A pop up bar is a very useful took for unsticking anything from the ice. We use them on our skid houses that can become stuck in a thin layer of ice. Often times when you go inside to drill the holes you'll pull water above the surface which will flood out over the top of the ice and yes, under the skids! It will freeze quickly and create a seal between the skid and ice and you are stuck. The same thing can happen during the day when the shack warms, slush forms, or from the sun and ice and snow melt roll down the sides, it eventually ends up sticking the skids to the ice. A pop up bar can solve the issue in just seconds and works quickly to pop the shack away from the ice.
